Sydney's best pool, with saltwater, next to the harbour and a magnet for water-loving gays, straights, mums and fashionistas. It's more for serious lap-swimmers than for splashers and thrashers, so keep to your lane if you're a leisurely swimmer. Worth it for the five-star amenities and harbour-view cafe alone. Wheelchair accessible.

Hours: Sep-Apr 6:00am-8:00pm; May-Jul 6:00am-7:00pm

Bondi Beach

Hard to beat a 35 minute bus ride on the #380 to Australia's most famous beach. A safe beach ( stay bewtween the flags) with lots of beautiful people. Late afternoon head to the RSL at the Northern end for Sydney's best sunsets and cheap beers.

Bondi to Coogee Cliff Walk

This walk is a must for visitors. You can do the 2 hour trek which takes you from Bondi-Tamarama-Bronte-Clovelly-Gordon's Bay-Coogee. You can start at Bondi or Coogee. There are buses to and back from the city till very late. You can eat at Bondi/Bronte/Coogee. Bondi and Coogee offer some cheap food. Brontehas nice but not cheap cafes. There is a great old timers bowling club ( The Clovelly Bowling Club) along the walk and we recommend it for a beer and slice of Australiana.
